ILOILO — The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) has intensified its internal cleansing program, completing mandatory drug testing for 66 percent of its total manpower within the first quarter of this year.
According to data as of March 19, a total of 1,591 out of 2,407 IPPO personnel have undergone screening. This figure includes three rounds of mandatory drug testing: February 3 (456 personnel were covered), February 24 (520 personnel), and March 19 (474 personnel). Other IPPO personnel separately underwent drug testing at the Regional Forensic Unit 6 as part of the requirements for their mandatory career courses.
The drug tests were administered by the Iloilo Provincial Forensic Unit, led by Police Major Homel F. Sorra. Notably, the IPPO reported a 100 percent negative result rate among all tested personnel for the period.
IPPO director Police Colonel Bayani M. Razalan emphasized that the systematic testing underscores the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) “zero-tolerance” policy.
“This sustained effort strengthens our internal cleansing program to maintain public trust,” Razalan stated.
He further assured that the remaining personnel will be tested in upcoming schedules to achieve full 100 percent coverage./PN
