ILOILO City – A young live-in couple was arrested after yielding around P2 million worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation on Monday evening, June 22, in Barangay Ferraris, Sara, Iloilo.
Police identified the suspects as 21-year-old alias “Cath,” a resident of the said barangay, and her partner, 20-year-old alias “Terrence,” of Barangay Tipacla, Ajuy town.
The buy-bust operation was carried out at around 9 p.m. by operatives of the Sara Municipal Police Station (MPS).
Recovered from the suspects were approximately 280 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated standard drug price of P2 million.
Police Colonel Bayani Razalan, director of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO), said the operation stemmed from tips provided by concerned citizens regarding the couple’s alleged illegal. The bust was executed following weeks of intelligence validation and monitoring.
“Ang madinalag-on nga operasyon sang Sara MPS batok sa ilegal nga droga, nga nagresulta sa pagkadakop sa sining mag-live-in, nagapamatuod sang dedikasyon sang inyo mga Ilonggo cops sa aton away kontra droga,” Razalan said.
The suspects were detained at the Sara MPS and will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
