ILOILO City – Various police units have apprehended 11 wanted persons and accounted for 17 firearms in a series of operations spanning 24 hours across Western Visayas.
Data from the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) showed that from the morning of June 24 to 25, police units arrested 11 individuals with pending arrest warrants. Among those caught, five are classified as wanted persons at the city and municipal levels while six others are facing lesser criminal offenses.
In its intensified crackdown on loose firearms, PRO-6 captured two individuals and recovered two illegal firearms. The drive also resulted in the surrender of 14 firearms, one firearm deposited for safekeeping, and the recovery of six explosive devices.
Concurrently, anti-narcotics teams netted two drug personalities, leading to the confiscation of approximately 12 grams of suspected shabu worth about P81,600.
PRO-6 acting director Brigadier General Randulf Tuaño emphasized that this single-day is a big help in maintaining peace and order in the region, demonstrating the regional police force’s sustained presence and commitment to proactive policing.
“Our campaign against criminality does not stop with arrests alone,” Tuaño said. “Every operation contributes to safer communities, stronger public confidence, and greater respect for the rule of law.
