Aklan’s No. 5 most wanted for carnapping falls in Kalibo

AKLAN — Police arrested Aklan’s No. 5 most wanted person in Kalibo town early Saturday, July 4, in connection with a carnapping case, the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) reported.

The suspect, identified only by the alias “Roland,” 45, a resident of Barangay Dalidip, Altavas, Aklan, was arrested at about 1 a.m. along Jaime Cardinal Sin Street in Barangay Andagao, Kalibo.

The operation was carried out by the Aklan Police Provincial Office (PPO) Tracker Team with assistance from the Kalibo Municipal Police Station.

Police served a warrant of arrest against the suspect for violating Republic Act No. 10883, or the Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016.

The warrant was issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 8 in Kalibo on July 1, 2026 with bail set at P300,000.

The accused is now under the custody of the Aklan PPO Tracker Team for proper documentation and disposition.

Acting PRO-6 director Brigadier General Randulf T. Tuaño commended the operating units for the successful arrest, saying it reflects the police force’s sustained efforts to track down wanted persons.

“This arrest reflects our firm commitment to account for wanted persons and ensure that they face the proper legal process. PRO-6 will continue to conduct sustained, intelligence-driven manhunt operations with discipline, accountability, and respect for due process,” Tuaño said.

He added that the regional police will continue to strengthen law enforcement efforts to protect communities, enhance public trust, and maintain peace and order across Western Visayas./PN
