ILOILO City – Around 340 grams of suspected shabu approximately valued at P2.3 million were confiscated from a 41-year-old man during an anti-illegal drug operation in Barangay Jelicuon Montinola, Cabatuan, Iloilo.
The suspect, identified as alias “Boy,” a resident of the said place, was caught at around 10:51 a.m. on July 10 by operatives of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office’s (IPPO) Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU).
Recovered from the suspect were one heat-sealed plastic sachet of suspected shabu as the buy-bust item, two knot-tied and one large heat-sealed plastic sachets of the said illegal substance, and buy-bust money.
Police Major Dadje Delima, PDEU chief, said the suspect is a newly identified high-value target.
“Sang sini lang nag-guwa name niya through our intelligence monitoring and the revelations of some previously arrested drug personalities,” Delima said.
Meanwhile, IPPO director Colonel Bayani Razalan commended the PDEU team for the successful operation.
“I urge everyone to help us in this intensified campaign to achieve a safer, peaceful, and drug-free Iloilo,” said Razalan.
The province’s top cop reiterated the IPPO’s commitment to sustaining aggressive anti-illegal drug operations in support of Police Regional Office 6’s campaign for a safer Western Visayas.
The suspect was detained at the Cabatuan Municipal Police Station. He will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
