ILOILO – A 42-year-old home-service massage therapist was apprehended on Monday, July 13, after police seized approximately P408,000 worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Cabugao Sur, Pavia, Iloilo.
The suspect identified by the alias “Nil,” a resident of the said barangay, was tagged by police as a high-value individual.
The operation was carried out by operatives of the Pavia Municipal Police Station (MPS) at around 5:28 p.m. following nearly a month of monitoring due to his alleged involvement in the town’s illegal drug activities.
Recovered from the suspect were eight heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing roughly 60 grams, with an estimated standard drug price of P408,000, buy-bust money, and other non-drug evidence.
Investigation revealed that the suspect was a former “tokhang” surrenderer and a graduate of the Community-Based Rehabilitation Program.
While the suspect strongly denied the accusations, Pavia MPS chief Major Bonifacio Alabe Jr. maintained that the police possess solid evidence proving the suspect’s direct involvement in illegal drug transactions.
The suspect is now under the custody of the Pavia MPS, facing charges for violation of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
