ILOILO — Police impounded a dump truck on Friday morning, July 17, as local authorities intensified their campaign against illegal quarrying operations in the municipality of Dueñas.
Personnel from the Dueñas Municipal Police Station (MPS), led by officer-in-charge Police Lieutenant Floripiss B. Subere, intercepted the vehicle at around 7:50 a.m. in Barangay Capuling, Dueñas, Iloilo.
Police operations revealed that the truck originated from the neighboring town of Pototan and had violated Municipal Ordinance No. 15, Section 3, which regulates designated hauling hours between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
The impounded dump truck is currently under the custody of the Dueñas MPS as proper charges regarding the illegal quarrying violation are prepared.
Under the leadership of Police Colonel Bayani M. Razalan, the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) reiterated its commitment to sustaining anti-illegal quarrying operations across the province to protect its natural resources./PN
