Live-in partners busted; ₱816K worth of ‘shabu’ seized

ILOILO City – A high-value drug suspect and his live-in partner landed in jail after yielding approximately 120 grams of suspected shabu valued at around ₱816,000 during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Tanza, City Proper district, Thursday night, September 3.

Police identified the suspects as aliases “Noli,” 45, and “Jen,” 44, both residents of City Proper.

Operatives of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6 (RPDEU-6), in coordination with the Regional Intelligence Division 6, PDEG Special Operations Unit 6 (PDEG SOU-6), and Iloilo City Police Station 7 (ICPS-7), conducted the sting around 8:26 p.m., recovering one sachet of suspected shabu used as the buy-bust item, six additional heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, and various non-drug-related items.

Authorities disclosed that the operation was carried out following nearly a month of intensive surveillance and monitoring of the suspects’ alleged illegal activities.

The suspects are currently in police custody and will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
