TV host-athlete Aira Lopez appeared not at all affected by her boyfriend, Batangas’ Vice Gov. Mark Leviste, gifting his ex-girlfriend Kris Aquino with her favorite chocolates and flowers earlier this month before she was scheduled to undergo a minor surgery.
On Facebook, Lopez addressed a social media post which reported about Leviste’s affectionate gesture toward Aquino, who is now recuperating but is still battling her 11 autoimmune diseases. The post alluded to supposed public concern for Lopez that Leviste’s gesture could mean that he might get back together with Aquino.
The Sparkle artist said Leviste’s generosity shouldn’t be an issue, saying she even encourages him to visit Aquino at the hospital.
“’Wag na po nating gawing issue ang lahat (Please don’t make an issue out of it). Whether he gave the chocolates or not, wala pong problema sa akin (I have no problem with it). I even encourage Mark to visit Ms. Kris in the hospital,” she said.
Lopez added that she is hopeful for Aquino’s recovery.
“I sincerely wish her well and pray for her recovery,” she said.
Eventually it was revealed that the chocolates and flowers supposedly came from Leviste’s son Ronin, who was also close to Aquino and even used to call her “Mama”.
Aquino and Leviste were in an on-and-off relationship in 2023, although they parted ways for good in November of the same year. The Queen of all Media explained that maintaining a long-distance relationship and battling her many autoimmune diseases had been very difficult for her.
“The truth is that I chose to lessen the stressors in my life and put my well-being first… [On] November 3, 2023, I initiated our breakup. It was a well thought out decision based on choosing to do what’s best for me now. I’m dealing with so much and my love life isn’t a priority,” she said.
Leviste and Lopez went public with their relationship in January 2025.
According to the internet personality, she said that despite their 28-year age gap, they manage to make their relationship work, adding that she would rather choose a “mature, smart, hardworking, and respectful partner” over someone of the same age who doesn’t treat her well.
