KALIBO, Aklan – Bernabe Garnace is the new head of the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) in Aklan.
Garnace was a community environment and natural resources officer in Mambusao, Capiz before the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) in Western Visayas assigned him his new position through Special Order No. 2017-422 on Nov. 20.
DENR regional director Jim Sampulna said he assigned Garnace as Aklan’s PENRO head “to continue the smooth operations of the agency, especially the implementation of its priority programs in the province.”
Garnace replaced Ivene Reyes, who the Office of the Ombudsman dismissed from the service due to extortion.
Garnace was also the coordinator of the DENR’s national greening program in Capiz. (With DENR Region 6/PN)
