BORACAY – A police task group will take charge of security during the 2017 Asean Summit in this island resort.
Task Group Boracay Asean 2017, created by the Aklan Police Provincial Office (APPO), will facilitate security preparations.
A series of meetings among Asean diplomats will be held in Boracay from Feb. 11 to March 2.
“We are ready to secure the Asean Summit,” assured Senior Police Officer 1 Nida Gregas, APPO public information officer.
The 2017 Asean Summit will be held in time for the golden anniversary of the organization. It has the theme “Partnering for Change, Engaging the World.”
This is the third time that the Philippines is hosting the Summit. The first was in Manila in 1987 and the second was in Cebu in 2007. (PNA)
