KALIBO, Aklan – Police have arrested an antidrug campaign “high-value target” in New Washington town.
Roljohn Tejada, 36, of Barangay Jalas, New Washington was No. 8 in the Aklan Police Provincial Office’s watch list of drug personalities, according to Senior Inspector Jerick Vargas, municipal police chief.
Tejada sold a sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover officer for P1,000. He yielded two more sachets.
Police staged the operation around 3:30 p.m. on Nov. 3 at a flea market (talipapa) in Barangay Jalas.
On the same day two drug suspects were apprehended in separate operations in Boracay.
Ryan Yabut, 37, of Barangay Bayanan, Muntinlupa City was caught around 12:40 a.m. in Sitio Cabanbanan Upper, Barangay Manoc-manoc.
The motorcycle driver sold two sachets of suspected shabu to an undercover officer for P1,500.
A cell phone that contained text messages of alleged drug transactions were seized from him.
An hour later Jose Lowies Javier, a resident of Barangay Hagachac, Makato temporarily residing in Sitio Lugutan, Barangay Manoc-manoc, was caught, too.
Javier sold a sachet of shabu to an undercover officer for P3,000 around 1:35 a.m. in Sitio Cabanbanan Crossing.
Another drug suspect was caught on Nov. 4 at a public market in Banga.
Rolando “Toto” Masakayan of Barangay Poblacion, Banga sold two sachets of suspected shabu to an undercover officer for P2,000, police said.
Operatives from Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operation Task Group, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, Maritime Group, and Boracay Tourist Assistance Center staged the operations.
