Another quarantine facility for Capiz eyed

Another quarantine facility would make Capiz more capable of taking care of its coronavirus disease patients, says Gov. Esteban Evan Contreras.

ROXAS City – The provincial government of Capiz requested the national government for funding assistance. It plans to build another quarantine / isolation facility.

In his letter reply, Regional Director Jose Roberto Nuñez of the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) asked Gov. Esteban Evan Contreras to submit the necessary documents.

Nuñez is also the chief of the regional interagency task force on coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Contreras asked for funding particularly from the Bayanihan To Recover as One Act 2.

The proposed quarantine / isolation facility is estimated to cost P172 million.

Contreras said this would make Capiz more capable of taking care of its COVID-19 patients.

As of May 5, Capiz’s cumulative COVID-19 cases hit 1,861 (229 active cases; 1,560 recovered cases; 71 deaths), data from the Department of Health showed./PN
