BORACAY – A photographer and an embalmer were arrested in separate antidrug operations in this island resort.

They were facing charges for violation of sections 5 (sale) and 11 (possession) of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The photographer, 34-year-old Michael Capangpangan, was caught around 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 11.

The resident of Sitio Ambulong, Barangay Manoc-manoc sold to an undercover operative a plastic pack of suspected shabu for P1,000 in Sitio Lugutan, also in Manoc-manoc, authorities said.

Antidrug agents and police officers further seized from him two more plastic packs of suspected shabu and a mobile phone.

On the other hand, the embalmer, 47-year-old Jesus Tayco, was also caught in Sitio Lugutan on Dec. 7.

Aside from the plastic pack of suspected shabu he sold to an undercover officer, the resident of Barangay Cubay Norte, Malay, Aklan also yielded another plastic pack of the same substance and the P1,000 buy-bust money.

Operatives from the Malay Municipal Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operation Task Group, Boracay Tourist Assistance Center, Maritime Police, Task Group Boracay, and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency staged the operations. (Aklan Forum Journal/PN)
