ACTOR Jansen Magpusao of Pandan, Antique is among the nominees for best actor in this year’s Gawad Urian Awards.
Magpusao is nominated for his performance as Grade 8 high school student John Denver Cabungcal in the renowned independent drama film “John Denver Trending.”
The 15-year-old star is up against nine other actors including Alden Richards (“Hello, Love, Goodbye”), Louise Abuel (“Edward”), Oliver Aquino (“Jino to Mari”), Gold Azeron (“Metamorphosis”), Raymond Bagatsing (“Quezon’s Game”), Royce Cabrera (“Fuccbois”), Elijah Canlas (“Kalel, 15”), Gio Gahol (“Sila Sila”) and Joel Lamangan (“Ang Hupa”).
“John Denver Trending” is also nominated for Best Picture; Arden Rod Condez for Best Director and Best Screenplay; Rommel Sales for Best Cinematography; and Meryll Soriano for Best Supporting Actress./PN
