‘Armed group members’ killed in Calatrava

BACOLOD City – Three men alleged to be members of an armed group were killed in Barangay Cambayobo Proper, Calatrava, Negros Occidental.

Chief Inspector John Joel Batusbatusan, officer-in-charge of the municipal police station, did not name the casualties pending investigation of the scene of the crime operatives.

The men were killed around 10:55 p.m. on Friday, police said.

According to local reports, elements of the Regional Mobile Force 6 led by Chief Inspector Yolando Lago Jr. and Senior Inspector Ryan Villasario encountered members of the armed group operating in the hinterlands of Calatrava that day.

The police had been monitoring the armed group, the officers said.

Investigation is ongoing./PN
