Data presented by the Department of Education (DepEd) Region 6 during the 1st Regional Assembly of Education Leaders shows a dramatic rise in recorded bullying cases across Western Visayas, rising to 2,162 in School Year (SY) 2024–2025 from 646 in SY 2023–2024. Reported cases involving children-at-risk and other learner protection concerns also posted significant increases, prompting DepEd-6 to intensify its child-friendly safety initiatives.
