BACOLOD City —In a continuing effort to enhance marine biodiversity, the Bacolod City Government has deployed additional artificial reefs off the coast of the Old Bacolod Airport.
On December 4, the CEO-Motorpool Bacolod team successfully installed the structures in the waters covering Barangays Singcang, Tangub, and nearby coastal areas.
City officials said the project aims to promote the growth of fish and other marine species, providing long-term benefits for local fisheries. The initiative also supports the preservation of the marine ecosystem while sustaining the livelihoods of fishermen in the area.
“This step is part of our ongoing commitment to strengthen both the environment and the local fishing community,” a city spokesperson said./PN
