BACOLOD City – Fire razed four houses in Barangay Singcang-Airport yesterday, killing an 81-year-old man, a police report showed.
Police identified the man as resident Edison Hojilla. His body was found inside one of the houses.
Aside from Hojilla’s house, the blaze – which started around 1 a.m. – also damaged the houses owned by Hojilla’s son Jerson, and relatives Rica and Erlinda Aguilar.
City Fire Marshall Chief Inspector Publio Plotena said an unattended kingki in Hojilla’s house caused the fire.
The Bureau of Fire Protection estimated the total damage to have cost P80,000./PN
