BACOLOD City – Fires left an estimated P550,000 cost of damage in two separate buildings in the city, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said.
Fires razed two 2-storey buildings in Barangay Pahanocoy and Barangay Tangub on Oct. 14, the BFP said.
The first incident happened around 2:30 a.m. when fire gutted the building owned by Marilyn Jamera in Barangay Pahanocoy.
Fire Officer 1 Stanley Mahusay said the fire damaged over P400,000 properties.
At around 8:30 a.m., fire destroyed another building owned by Alexis Alano in Barangay Tangub.
BFP records showed that the damage in Alano’s building was over P150,000.
Investigations revealed that the cause of fire in Jamera’s building was an overheated electric mosquito killer while in Alano’s, a grounded electrical wire.
No one was injured or killed in the incidents./PN
