BACOLOD City – A robbery suspect was caught while he was in a coffee shop in Villa Angela, Barangay Villamonte.
The 37-year-old Joseph Belaong of Barangay Pahanocoy was arrested on the strength of a warrant issued by Judge Manuel Cardinal of the Regional Trial Court in the city.
Belaong was taken to the Police Station 4 at around 4:40 a.m. on Oct. 14, a police report showed.
Police Station 4 commander Chief Inspector Ritchie Gohee said Belaong is a suspect in a series of theft and robbery incidents in the city.
Belaong’s victims – mostly drivers of delivery vans and cashiers – positively identified him.
Recovered from Belaong were .45-caliber gun and a Honda XRM 110 motorcycle that the police believed he used in his illegal activities.
Belaong was detained at the police station’s lockup facility.
The court recommended a P24,000 bail bond for him./PN
