Bacolod pedicab driver’s killing condemned

BACOLOD City – Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran denounced the killing of a pedicab driver inside his house in Barangay Singcang-Airport in this capital city.

Familiaran shared the same sentiments with village chief Rosinie Distrito, demanding justice for the slain 43-year-old Rodelio Camento.

Camento is allegedly a “high-value” drug suspect.

“We are asking the police to conduct a thorough investigation in order to give justice to the incident and to identify the assailants,” Familirian said.

The pedicab driver was sleeping together with his family when two unidentified suspects forcibly entered their house and peppered him with bullets around 1 a.m. on May 29.

According to police investigation, Camento was a subject of the “Oplan Tokhan” last year but failed to surrender to Police Station 8.

Distrito meanwhile said they already extended a burial plan assistance worth P15,000 for Camento./PN
