Banko Perlas drains Motolite in Premier Volleyball League

MANILA – BanKo Perlas Lady Spikers kept its playoffs hopes alive by sweeping Motolite Power Builders, 25-21, 25-19, 25-21, in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference at the San Juan Arena.

Angelique Gervacio top-scored with 20 points, Suzanne Roces added 13 markers and team captain Nicole Tiamzon chipped in double-double 12 markers and 12 digs on Saturday night.

The Lady Spikers snapped a two-game losing skid and moved up to No. 4 spot in the standings with 7-5 win-loss slate.

The Power Builders is still No. 3 with 7-4.

“No. 1 is the attitude sa loob ng court. Whatever happens, good or bad, dapat everything’s positive at saka may reminder kami na we should always help each other,” said Gervacio.

Diana Carlos finished with 14 points while Myla Pablo and Maria Lina Molde had 10 markers apiece for the Power Builders.

In the second game, Bali Pure Purest Water Defenders halted its six-game slide to score a 25-21, 23-25, 25-23, 17-25, 17-15 victory over the Chef’s Classic Lady Red Spikers.

Grazielle Bombita tallied game-high 27 points while Menchie Tubiera had triple-double 15 markers, 17 digs and 14 excellent receptions as the Purest Water Defenders improved to a 3-10 win-loss record./PN
