BACOLOD City – Police have yet to identify two of three suspects in shooting a man in the hinterland Barangay Magballo, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.
The 43-year-old George “Colasing” Garingo, a laborer of Barangay San Jose, Bayawan City, Negros Oriental, died of four gunshot wounds on the body, a police report showed.
The 54-year-old Dominador Pelago found Garingo wounded and reported to Barangay Magballo village chief Egan Antonio around 8 p.m. on Jan. 24.
Police identified one of the suspects as a certain “Bay,” 25.
Based on the initial investigation, Bay and two others went to Garingo’s house to borrow a pot.
But when Garingo went out, the suspects shot him.
The suspects escaped the crime scene while they were shouting that they were members of the New People’s Army, police said.
Garingo has a pending arrest warrant for allegedly raping his daughter in 2014.
Police were still investigating the shooting./PN
