BACOLOD City — A 25-year-old man tagged by police as a high-value individual was arrested after approximately P6.8 million worth of suspected shabu was seized during a buy-bust operation in Barangay 31, Bacolod City, on September 19.
The operation was conducted by the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) at around noon in Purok Fatima.
The operation was supported by the BCPO City Intelligence Unit, Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team, Police Station 6, and the Regional Intelligence Unit of the Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region.
The suspect, identified only as alias “Jak,” is a single, unemployed resident of the barangay.
Police records identified him as a high-value individual who was not listed under the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council.
Operatives seized approximately 1,000 grams of suspected shabu with a standard drug price of P6.8 million.
Also recovered were six sachets and 10 knot-tied transparent plastic packets containing suspected shabu, a sling bag, six P1,000 bills used as buy-bust money, and P900 believed to be proceeds from the illegal drug transaction.
The suspect is detained at Police Station 6 and is facing charges for alleged violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
BCPO City Director Col. Eugene N. Rebadomia said the police office would continue to intensify intelligence-driven operations against illegal drugs in coordination with partner units and other stakeholders.
