ILOILO City – Two bet collectors for the illegal numbers game “bookies” were caught on Isnart Street, City Proper.
Gloria Villanueva, 47, of Barangay Dela Rama, City Proper and Jenelyn Deceda, 50, of Barangay Tanza Esperanza, City Proper were arrested around 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 8, a police report showed.
Recovered from their possession were P150.51 bet money and gambling paraphernalia.
Detained in the custodial facility of Police Station 1, the suspects face charges for violation of Presidential Decree 1602, which prescribes stiffer penalties on illegal gambling./PN
