BACOLOD City – A taxi driver and a lending company collector were held up and robbed in separate incidents.
A male passenger hired his cab around 5:20 a.m. on Sunday in Barangay Villamonte, the 29-year-old driver Joseph Maiguillo told Police Station 4.
All of a sudden the passenger pointed a “weapon” at him — he was unable to identify what kind — and declared holdup, said Maiguillo.
Maiguillo, a resident of Barangay Taculing, told the police the suspect took his P1,500 cash.
He said the suspect took over his taxi and fled, leaving him behind.
Police Station 4 officers found the cab around 6:45 a.m. at Capitol Heights Subdivision in Barangay Villamonte.
In the same barangay on Saturday, a 23-year-old collector for Gold Coin Lending Corp. lost P29,000 cash collection to holdup men.
Philip Geronemo, a resident of Barangay Mansilingan, told Police Station 4 two unidentified people on board a motorcycle trained a firearm of unknown caliber on him and grabbed his sling bag containing his collection.
The suspects fled after the incident, leaving the victim unharmed, police said./PN
