SAN JOSE, Antique – Gov. Rhodora Cadiao has vowed to attend to the requests of Sibay, Caluya, providing them paved roads and livelihood projects.
Cadiao, in an interview on Monday, said the main concerns raised by residents of Sibay, a far-flung barangay of Caluya town, during her visit last week was the lack paved roads and livelihood assistance.
“You cannot see a cemented road there,” Cadiao said. She added that the request for a road construction project worth P1 million will be a priority.
The other priority project will be for the women of the town whom she encouraged to engage in making souvenir items to augment the income of their husbands.
“The women don’t really have income of their own so I encouraged them to come up with a livelihood project,” Cadiao added.
The governor said that shells that abound in the area could be used by the women to make beautiful decorations or souvenir items.
Cadiao, who’s the first head of the province to ever set foot in Sibay, also distributed food packs, toilets bowls, and notebooks in the barangay, as well as wheelchairs for the elderly and persons with disability. (PNA)
