BACOLOD City – A man was hacked in Barangay Minapasok, Calatrava, Negros Occidental.
The 50-year-old resident Rogelio Sultan sustained a hack wound on the head, a police report showed.
Police identified the suspect as Sultan’s 53-year-old cousin Jesie Macapas.
According to police investigators, Sultan and Macapas were having a drinking session when a heated argument ensued between them around 7 p.m. on Sunday.
This prompted Macapas to hack Sultan, police said.
Sultan was brought to the Alfredo Marañon Sr. District Hospital in Sagay City, Negros Occidental for treatment.
The motive in the incident was not immediately established.
Officers of the Calatrava municipal police station conducted a manhunt operation against Macapas, who fled after the incident./PN
