CALUYA, Antique – The Municipal Health Office (MHO) here has been temporarily closed. A personnel tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
The closure was effected on July 21.
According to Mayor Rigil Kent Lim, the personnel’s specimen was tested in Iloilo City during a trip there. The result was released on July 20.
“Such index case had close contact with MHO personnel prior to travel to Iloilo City. The management (thus) deemed it necessary that all MHO personnel underwent Rapid Diagnostic Test – Antigen which resulted to seven positive (COVID-19 probable) cases,” read part of Lim’s statement.
These seven personnel subsequently underwent reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test and went on quarantine while waiting for the results.
The MHO, on the other hand, was disinfected.
As this was being written, the RT-PCR test results of the seven personnel were yet to be released.
On the other hand, the unexposed municipal health workers and staff were advised to render “on-call service” until their office had been fully disinfected.
