CAPIZ – Fire prevention is being observed in the Philippines every March.

The Provincial Fire Marshal of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in Capiz has recently outlined the scheduled activities for the upcoming observance themed “Sa Pag-iwas sa Sunog di ka Nag-iisa.”

Fire Superintendent Jenny Mae Masip, provincial fire marshal of BFP-Capiz, said during a Bombo Radyo Roxas interview that the month-long event will commence on March 1 with a kick-off ceremony, a Holy Mass at the Roxas City Fire Station grounds, and a motorcade involving partner agencies throughout Roxas City.

Additionally, the first-ever “Tuklas Talento sa Awit at Sayaw” will be held at a mall in Barangay Lawaan, featuring performances from firefighters representing various municipal fire stations.

Other planned activities include the Fire Square Road Show, an art contest, a showcase of BFP uniforms, and mangrove planting, among others.

The BFP-Capiz will also organize the first color fun run and dental mission.

In addition to these events, the BFP-Capiz will select a beneficiary to support through Oplan JDC, inspired by the initiative of former BFP-6 regional director Fire Chief Superintendent Jerry Candido./PN
