Gov. Fredenil H. Castro met with Roel F. Bermejo, Schools Division Superintendent of the Department of Education–Capiz, on March 12 to discuss preparations for the event scheduled on April 19, 2026.
The ceremony will be held at Villareal Stadium in Roxas City and is expected to gather around 8,829 participants.
Attendees will include newly promoted educators from several Schools Division Offices (SDOs), including SDO Capiz, SDO Aklan, SDO Antique, SDO Guimaras, SDO Iloilo, SDO Iloilo City, SDO Passi City, and SDO Roxas City.
Officials said the scale of the ceremony could make it one of the largest mass oath-taking events for educators in the country.
During the meeting, Castro and Bermejo discussed logistical preparations to ensure the smooth conduct of the event, including traffic management plans and safety protocols for the expected large crowd.
Authorities are also set to deploy trained security personnel to maintain order and ensure the safety of participants during the ceremony.
Meanwhile, Bermejo also briefed the governor on preparations for the send-off ceremony of the SDO Capiz delegation that will compete in the Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association Meet 2026. The send-off activity was scheduled on March 14 at Capiz National High School.
The opening ceremony of the WVRAA Meet will be held on March 17 in Passi City.
Bermejo also announced that Capiz will host the upcoming Regional Festival of Talents on March 25, which will feature student competitions in music, dance, and other artistic disciplines.
Castro has been invited to deliver the keynote address during the event, which aims to showcase the talents and creativity of students from across the region./PN
