BACOLOD City – A 5-year-old boy was injured when an aluminum cargo van hit him in Purok Caimito, Barangay Bunga, Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental.
Mark Spencer Montilla of Purok Cauayan, Barangay Bunga sustained injuries on the body, said Senior Inspector Joevito Bose, municipal police chief.
He was rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in this city.
The Mitsubishi L300 aluminum van driver – 27-year-old Michael John Muyco of Purok Balungay, Barangay 28, this city – was arrested and detained at the Salvador Benedicto police station.
His vehicle was impounded at the police station as well.
From this city, Muyco was negotiating Kilometer 59 heading to San Carlos City at around 2:40 p.m. on Wednesday when Montilla suddenly crossed the road, investigation showed./PN
