CebPac halts online check-in for int’l flights due to virus

LOCAL carrier Cebu Pacific said it temporarily suspended online check-in for international flights to give way to checks aimed at preventing the spread of a deadly coronavirus strain.

The travel history of passengers on international flights will be checked in airport counters before they are allowed to check in and given boarding passes, the Philippines’ largest airline said late Wednesday.

Online check-in is still available for domestic flights, Cebu Pacific said in a statement posted on Twitter.

The Philippines has temporarily banned inbound travel from mainland China to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Cebu Pacific also suspended flights to the mainland.

On Wednesday, Manila announced travel restrictions to South Korea, home to one of the largest outbreaks of the disease outside of China. (ABS-CBN News)
