Ceres faces off with JPV in Bacolod

CERES Negros hopes to continue its domination over JPV Marikina when they tangle in the 2018 Philippines Football League on Wednesday night at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod City.

Game time is 7 p.m. Ceres, the defending champion, hopes to improve its league-leading 32 points (10 wins, two draws and a loss) while JPV aims to move up from its 10 points (three wins, one draw and nine losses).

Ceres assistant coach Ian Treyes knows they cannot take JPV for granted despite scoring two wins in their previous matches this season – 3-0 on April 14 and 4-1 on April 25.

“We know JPV and Ceres have made good games in the past years and the margin is not too big,” Treyes said. “I hope we can play our best and we can see a good game.”

But Ceres will have to continue its winning ways without veterans Bienvenido Marañon, Manuel Ott and Carlos de Murga, who all sustained injuries in their previous matches.

Leading the way for the Busmen are Stephan Schrock, Jeffrey Christiaens, Mike Ott, Manuel Herrera, Martin Steuble, Kevin Ingreso, Sean Kane, Takumi Uesato, and Toni Doblas.

JPV will bank on Ilonggo J Baguioro, Negrense Jake Morallo, Ryuki Kozawa, Kennedy Uzoka, Alen Angeles, Jayson Cutamora, Charlie Beaton, Robert Cañedo, and Jim Ashley Flores./PN
