BACOLOD City – Contractual and job order personnel can now avail the services of the Social Security System (SSS).
Mayor Evelio Leonardia, with the Sangguniang Panlungsod’s approval, signed a memorandum of agreement making contractual and job order employees members of the SSS.
The memorandum aims to facilitate a convenient remittance of the SSS monthly payment from the contractual and job order personnel.
When asked of legal advice, Atty. III Reuben Mikhail Sabig of the City Legal Office said he found no legal impediment in the agreement.
The city government will now secure a monthly collection report of the remittances of the workers.
Moreover, the city government must ensure that there will be no delay in the payroll of the employees to smoothly comply with the requirements of SSS, Sabig said.
The SSS is pursuing a “universal coverage” to give social security protection to all the workers in the country./PN
