BACOLOD City – Unidentified persons held up a couple and two men in Barangay Sag-ang, La Castellana, Negros Occidental, police said.

Riding in tandem in a motorcycle, live-in partners Femie Cabarles and Demar Omambat told the police they were on the national highway along Hacienda Isabel when waylaid at around 9:15 p.m. on Wednesday.

At the time, the couple – residents of Barangay Lalagsan, La Castellana – were with Ryan Cavalfin and Bodie Cezar, both on board another motorcycle, on their way to La Castellana from La Carlota City, police said.

With scarf-covered faces, the culprits used a warning device of the Department of Public Works and Highways to block them.

The suspects trained at them a homemade shotgun, locally known as sulpak, and declared holdup, police said.

They took from the victims a Samsung J2 Prime cell phone worth P7,000, an estimated P1,500 cash, assorted clothing, and other personal belongings before fleeing, said the police./PN
