BACOLOD City – Police have yet to establish whether or not the man found dead in Barangay Gargato, Hinigaran, Negros Occidental committed suicide.

Johnsie Piojo, 21, was slumped on the floor of their house when found at around 11 a.m. on Wednesday but had a rope tied around his neck, police said.

It appeared that the 3-feet rope was attached to the house’s wooden truss but split apart and caused Piojo to fall, said the police.

Piojo was taken to an emergency clinic where the attending physician, Dr. Eduardo Duran, pronounced him “dead on arrival.”

Police recovered the man’s cellphone, black wallet, a photo of a woman believed to be his girlfriend, and the rope. Officers were still investigating the death./PN
