KALIBO, Aklan – Two drug suspects were arrested in separate buy-bust operations in Ibajay and Nabas in the province.
They were the 40-year-old Aldwin Andrade of Barangay San Isidro, Ibajay, Aklan and Ryan Ombao, 22, of Barangay Buenavista in this capital town.
Both were caught on Aug. 19.
Andrade, a street-level target, was nabbed by the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, Aklan Provincial Public Safety Company, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 6, and the Ibajay municipal police around 12:50 a.m. in his house, a police report showed.
This was after he sold shabu to an undercover police officer for P500.
Andrade, a drug surrenderee last year, yielded three more sachets of shabu and a cellular phone used for drug transactions, police said.
Andrade denied the allegation. “Tanim ang drugs sa akin,” he said.
In Nabas, Ombao was arrested after selling shabu for P500 to an undercover officer around 9:30 p.m. in Barangay Poblacion.
Recovered from Ombao were two more sachets of shabu, police said.
Andrade and Ombao were detained and facing charges for the violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive bDangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (Aklan Forum Journal/PN)
