BACOLOD City – Misunderstanding ensued between two drunken men in Barangay Tuguis, Hinigaran, Negros Occidental, prompting one of them to fatally stab the other, a police report showed.
The 60-year-old resident ElecanalPabalinas sustained stab wounds on the different parts of the body and was rushed to the Hinigaran Medical Clinic where attending physician Dr. Janssen Vergara pronounced him “dead on arrival.”
Senior Inspector Jake Barilla, municipal police chief, said they were still locating the suspect: resident JR Dalmacio.
Dalmacio fled the crime scene after stabbing Pabalinas, police said.
According to witness Jun Pojo, Pabalinas, Dalmacio and the 18-year-old Bryan Vergara went to his store on around 6 p.m. on Saturday drunk.
They were eating batchoywhen altercation between Pabalinas and Dalmacio ensued.
Pabalinas poured the soup on Dalmacio which angered the latter.
Dalmacio then punched Pabalinas and kicked him on the head.
Pojo tried to pacify the two but failed, police said. He asked help from his uncle but when they went back to the crime scene, Pabalinas was already lying on the ground unconscious./PN
