BACOLOD City – Authorities seized around P24 million worth of shabu and a firearm from a house in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental on Thursday.
Wielding a warrant, police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency operatives searched the house of Jan Mark “Biboy” Abadilla in Barangay Bajumpandan at around 10 a.m.
They found about 2 kilos of suspected shabu, P113,290 cash, a weighing scale, two mobile phones, and drug paraphernalia.
Authorities placed the value of the confiscated substance at P23,600,000.
They also seized from Abadilla a .38 revolver with 11 live bullets.
Senior Superintendent Raul Tacaca of the Philippine National Police Maritime Group served the warrant issued by Executive Judge Gerardo Paguio of the Dumaguete City Regional Trial Court.
Abadilla was detained at the Dumaguete City police station.
He was charged with violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
Aside from PDEA-Negros Oriental and the PNP Maritime Group, the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit and the Provincial Intelligence Bureau of the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office were involved in the operation./PN
