ECC-DOLE provides free rehab services

ILOILO City – “We are happy to update the public that the ECC (Employees Compensation Commission) provides free physical therapy and rehabilitation appliances such as hearing aid, crutches, wheelchair, and prosthesis,” said Employees’ Compensation program (ECP) officer Stephen Barredo.

According to Barredo, under these rehabilitation services, they are partnering with selected hospitals in the Region: West Visayas State University Medical Center, Iloilo St. Paul’s Hospital in Iloilo City, Riverside College Medical Center in Bacolod City, and St. Anthony Medical Center in Roxas City.

Barredo added that they are implementing a Katulong at Gabay sa Manggagawang may Kapansanan or KaGaBay Program which provides free re-skilling for re-employment and free entrepreneurship trainings for persons with work-related disabilities (PWRDs).

These services are additional benefits for PWRDs subsequent to their approved ECP benefits from the Social Security System or Government Service Insurance System.

ECP provides a package of benefits to workers and/or their dependents in the event of work-related contingencies. Benefits under ECP are loss of income, medical, career allowance, death, and rehabilitation services.

The ECC is an attached agency of the Department of Labor and Employment mandated to assist workers who have met work-related contingencies./PN
