ILOILO City – Crossing the road turned fatal for a 74-year-old man in Barangay Polot-an, Pototan, Iloilo.
Juan Ebrona sustained head and body injuries, a police report showed.
Ebrona – resident of Barangay Callan, Pototan – was crossing the road when hit by a motorcycle driven by Rogie Quirino of Barangay Acuit, Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo, the report added.
Ebrona was rushed to the Iloilo Provincial Hospital in Pototan but the attending physician declared him dead on arrival.
The incident happened around 7:30 a.m. on Jan. 15.
Responding police officers were able to arrest Quirino. They took him in custody for filing of appropriate charges./PN
