BACOLOD City – A 70-year-old woman was found dead inside an open concrete water tank in Barangay Old Poblacion, Sagay City, Negros Occidental.
Eloisa Hilado went outside to look for her pet cat on Wednesday, Sagay police said, citing her caretaker Marina Cabatuan.
Midnight came but Hilado has not yet returned home. This prompted Cabatuan to search for the elderly woman. She reached the city proper but failed to find Hilado, according to a police report.
Hilado’s body was found on April 27. The water tank measured 12 meters wide, 30 meters long and 12 feet high.
A purok president in Barangay Old Sagay, Enocencio Aviles, told the police Hilado may have fallen into the tank.
Aviles alleged that the victim was “mentally incapacitated,” the police report stated./PN
