ILOILO – A 52-year-old man tagged as a high-value individual was apprehended and around 121 grams of suspected shabu were seized from his possession in Estancia town over the weekend.
According to Police Lieutenant Adrian Y. Baligod of the Estancia police station, the buy-bust operation was carried out by officers of the Station Drug Enforcement Team at 12:30 p.m. on February 7 in the town’s Barangay Cano-an. Confiscated from the suspect identified as alias “Randy,” a resident of the said barangay, was suspected shabu approximately valued at P822,800.
Baligod said the arrest was the result of nearly two weeks of surveillance and intelligence gathering triggered by tips from local residents. He added that the suspect allegedly sourced his illegal drugs from Iloilo City for distribution in Estancia.
“This operation is a testament to the power of community involvement and police collaboration,” said Baligod. “The insights provided by vigilant citizens are invaluable in our efforts to combat the drug problem in our area.”
