MANILA – F2 Logistics Cargo Movers survived a tough challenge from Generika-Ayala Lifesavers for a 25-19, 25-27, 25-22, 18-25, 15-13 escape in the 2019 Philippine Superliga All-Filipino Conference at the San Juan Arena.

The Cargo Movers were erratic in the fifth and deciding set on Saturday and were down 7-10 before Desiree Cheng, Victorinara Galang and Kim Dy came up with conversions for an 11-all count.

Angeli Araneta knotted the score at 12-all but went down with an injury before the Cargo Movers delivered the knockout blows and wrapped up the battle after two hours and 42 minutes.

Kalei Mau tallied triple-double of 25 points, 23 digs and 16 excellent receptions while Galang put up 16 points.

Mary Joy Baron had nine blocks to finish with 14 markers for the 11-0 Cargo Movers.
“I told them that our opponents won’t give us confidence, it should start from us,” said Cargo Movers head coach Ramil De Jesus. “They didn’t show enough respect to Generika. I think they lacked preparation.”

Ilongga Fiola Ceballos tallied 22 points including 27 digs while Bacolodnon Patty Orendain had 16 points including 11 excellent receptions as the Lifesavers dropped to 6-5.

In the second game, Cignal HD Spikers hacked out a 25-20, 25-15, 24-26, 27-25 win over Marinerang Pilipina Lady Skippers. Mylene Paat finished with 12 markers for the 5-5 HD Spikers./PN
