ILOILO City – A farmer died while his friend was hospitalized after they got electrocuted at a rice field in Barangay Pili, Ajuy, Iloilo yesterday, May 30.
Jerry Dela Cruz, 52, of the town’s Barangay Mangorocoro, Ajuy died of severe burns at the Barotac Viejo District Hospital.
The 60-year-old Leonilo Ballener of Barangay Pili, meanwhile, was recuperating at the Sara District Hospital.
According to the police, the victims were working around 6 a.m. when Dela Cruz accidentally touched a live wire.
Ballener tried to rescue his friend but he, too, got electrocuted./PN
