BACOLOD City – A fight over irrigation caused one farmer to shoot another in Barangay Minoyan, Murcia, Negros Occidental.

Agosto Delman allegedly blocked an irrigation canal leading to the rice farm of James Solis, but this was only because Dalman wanted his farm to get irrigated first, police investigation showed.

Delman and Solis was supposed to settle their conflict before Barangay Captain Lordy Espinosa on Tuesday, but on Monday evening, Solis allegedly barged into Delman’s house and shot the latter to death.

Delman died of multiple gunshot wounds on the body. Solis used an improvised 12-gauge shotgun locally known as sulpak, police said./PN
