ILOILO City – Two houses were gutted by a fire that broke out in Barangay Santo Niño Norte, Arevalo district around 12 noon yesterday.
The two houses were owned by siblings Francis and Jeffrey Alcala.
Neighbors claimed seeing smoke and fire from Jeffrey’s house and this quickly spread to his brother’s house.
Jeffrey, in an interview with Aksyon Radyo Iloilo, said no one was in their house because they were working and their children were in school.
“Wala ko idea kun ano ginhalinan, nagabyahe ko ya dali-dali man ko puli pagkabalo ko nasunog kuno balay namon,” said Jeffrey, a taxi driver.
He added: “Paghalin namon kaina gin patay ko na ya suga tanan basta maglakat kami tanan nga tawo gina patay gid na ya, natural lang man ni ah disgrasya.”
The investigation of the Bureau of Fire Protection is still ongoing./PN
