ILOILO City – His colleague stabbed a fishing boat crewman at the Iloilo Fish Port.

Roberto Placencia, 37, of Barangay South Baluarte, Molo district was wounded on the right shoulder, a police report showed.

Placencia was taken to the Iloilo Doctors’ Hospital, whose staffers informed Police Station 1 about the victim.

Police identified the suspect as Michael Plana, 34, of Barangay Hitalon, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental.

Plana fled after attacking his colleague at around 8 p.m. on Sept. 23 on board the fishing boat Super Nathan but turned himself in to the police an hour and a half later, the police report stated.

A commotion ensued between them before Plana grabbed a spine of a stingray, locally known as binsol, and stabbed Placencia, police said.

Their other coworker – Rodjie Remetares, 23, of Barangay Bagonbon, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental – positively identified Plana as the attacker, said the police.

Plana was detained at the Police Station 1 custodial facility./PN
